The trillion-dollar online retail company has been positioning themselves in every home with devices that act as virtual assistants. Their strategy on creating exciting new hardware has certainly paid off and Alexa becoming known to households everywhere.
The fame of Alexa reached far and wide with Echo devices, but Amazon certainly has produced a lot more electronics as if testing the public on which product appeals best.
Here are some of the many devices that Amazon cooked up for the latter part of 2018.
The small and affordable Echo Dot gave consumers a taste of the Amazon virtual assistant. Retailing at $50 and sometimes being sold on a discount, the Dot is still the best-selling speaker. However, Amazon has upgraded the Dot with power speakers, improved Bluetooth and Audio playback as well as synchronizing with third-party speakers. Software-wise, the Dot an improved input.
Take Alexa for a ride with Amazon’s Echo Auto. The company is in talks with major car companies to include the virtual assistant in cars, however for now take a small dongle with you. It plugs in most infotainment systems and provides drivers with voice controls to get the latest traffic info while driving or just ask anything out of the blue. The Echo Auto will work with mapping apps such as Waze, Google Maps and more. Retailing at $50, the Echo Auto can be bought for as low as $25 discounted price.
Graduate from the Dot with stronger, louder bass. Use other Echo’s or another Sub for a booming experience in your home. Works with the Echo line of hardware to give you a better auditory experience. Retailing for now at $130 though watch out for Amazon’s great discounts to get the Echo Sub at a lower price.
Amazon is not stopping at audio speakers. With digital content on the rise, the company wants to ride the wave with their Fire TV recast. Play your favorite video streaming channel, watch your favorite TV stations. Live record or even broadcast the content to multiple devices. A powerful antenna can grave over-the-air channels like Fox, CBS, NBC. More and quality is only affected depending on geographic locations. Retailing at $230, the Fire TV Recast is well worth the money. As there are several more features waiting for you to discover them.
One of the curious releases from the latest Alexa devices is the speaker-less dot. It doesn’t have any speakers because it was designed to connect to your own speakers. Either from Amazon or third-party speakers. Converse with your virtual assistant and hear feedback from a connected speaker. It makes sense as the device retails for as low as $35. The company might also be marketing the stripped-down Echo along with third-party speaker bundles.
